The Centro de Investigaciones de Energía Solar (CIES), belonging to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, invite you in the year of the 15th Anniversary of its foundation to the celebration of the I NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCE. This will be celebrated between the 1st to 3th of November 1999. Within the Symposium, will be celebrated the 2nd of November, the I WOMEN CONVENTION LINKED TO ENERGETIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEVELOPMENT.
This event has as main objective the exchange between national and foreign specialists on the scientific and technological activity, in relationship to the utilization of the renewable energy sources, state of the art and perspectives.
The Convention has as a principal purpose, the integration of the women devoted to the efficient use of Renewable Energies, the conservation of the environment and the sustainability.

Located in Santiago of Cuba and sponsor of the CIES'99, is the principal institutions in renewable sources of the country, and has as mission:
"To research and development sustainable integral technologies, to transmit specialised knowledge and to offer scientific and technical services, to extend the alternative use of renewable energies"

Abstracts
The Organising Commission will receive the abstracts until 30th of September 1999. Their length should not exceed 200 words and is to include:
Subject number (1-8)
Complete title.
Complete name of the authors and co-authors, institution, address, Tel/Fax/Email.
The texts should be edited in any version of WORD for WINDOWS in format ISO A4.
Delivery of the papers
The admission will close the 15th of October of 1999. The authors once received the approval of the abstract will send the complete paper, according to the presentation procedures.
The Scientific Committee will decide which papers will be presented as poster or oral presentations.
Only will be accepted the papers edited in WORD for WINDOWS, and should not be exceeded of 7 pages, including annex, graphic, figures, etc.
The official languages of the event will be Spanish and English.
Accreditation of the participants
The payment will have a price of $100.00 MN for the national participants and $100.00 USD for the foreigners and will be paid in cash in the moment of the accreditation. Can be accredited foreign and national students paying $50.00 MN and $50.00 USD respectively.
The price includes the participation in all the technical sections, documentation, refreshments and welcome cocktail.
