The Mission of EcoSystems ...

... is to develop, promote and market methodologies, technologies, and products that conserve natural resources and advance our planet towards sustainability through the use of solar energy.

We specialize in technology development:

• SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: We design and develop EcoVillages (mixed-use environmentally sensitive housing/commercial communities)
• SOLAR ENERGY: We nurture technology development and identify market opportunities in solar energy (including passive solar design) and energy conservation (such as the soon to be manufactured high efficiency TPTS gas-fired water heater); and ...
• TRANSPORTATION: We promote and nurture sustainable transportation alternatives (electric and solar powered vehicles, Ultra-Lite Rail Systems)

We employ the principles of Ecological Economics: Our planet is experiencing a crisis of unprecedented proportions: with increasing demands for resources of dwindling quality and increasing costs of extraction, we are consuming our "seed corn" and our wastes are piling up beyond our planet's capacity to absorb them.

This is not sustainable in the long term. There are debates about how much time we have, but it is clear that humanity is challenging the limits of the natural order as never before. Virtually by definition, one of the solutions to achieving sustainability is the transition from an economy based on oil to one based on solar energy. Employing this solution, our programs and projects are based on two primary principles:

• More with Less: Our limits can be extended by organizational methodologies and technological advances which achieve more results with less material substance. Our inspiration? Buckminster Fuller.
• Solar Regenerators: We can transition to solar energy by creating "solar regenerators" -- solar generating systems (photovoltaics, solar thermal electric, wind turbine generators, etc.), which produce sufficient energy to perform useful work and simultaneously generate enough surplus to produce more solar generating systems.
